Active Care Health
Active Care Health Centre is a multidisciplinary health clinic in downtown Kelowna, BC, offering chiropractic care, massage therapy, laser therapy, kinesiology, and custom orthotics under one roof. Their existing site no longer reflected the scope of their services or the quality of care they provide, so we took on a full rebuild and redesign from the ground up.
Working from their existing content and brand, we rebuilt every page on a consistent design system, restructured the site’s navigation around their services and booking flow, and built out dedicated pages for each service line and product the clinic offers.
The Client
Active Care Health Centre has been providing integrated health care in Kelowna since 1994, with a team of chiropractors, registered massage therapists, and kinesiologists working together out of their St. Paul Street clinic. They also offer custom orthotics, digital X-rays, Pillowise custom pillows, and Bauerfeind bracing. Their site needed to reflect the breadth of that care and make it simple for both new and returning patients to find the right service and book an appointment.
The Task
The existing site was outdated and inconsistent, with no unified design system across pages and no clear path for new patients to learn about individual services or book in. We rebuilt the site page by page on the Impreza framework in a dedicated staging environment, redesigning 17 pages in total: the homepage, About, Meet the Team, Chiropractors, Services, dedicated pages for each service and product line, New Patients, Appointments, Testimonials, Contact, and the blog. A key goal was separating the booking path for first-time patients from returning patients, so each could get to the right place in as few clicks as possible.
The Results
The rebuild delivered a consistent, modern site built on a single design system carried across every page, with a full-screen video hero, unified stats bars, and sitewide entrance animations tying the experience together.
Key features of the site included:
- Dedicated Service Pages: Individual, SEO-friendly pages for Chiropractic Care, Massage Therapy, Laser Therapy, Kinesiology, and Custom Orthotics, plus product pages for Pillowise Custom Pillows, Digital X-Rays, and Bauerfeind Braces, all written from the clinic’s own content rather than generic filler.
- Split Booking Flow: Separate paths for initial and follow-up appointments, surfaced in the hero, header, and calls to action throughout the site to streamline the path from visitor to booked patient.
- Consistent Design System: A repeatable hero, stats bar, service carousel, and iconbox pattern with sitewide scroll animations applied across every page.
- Trust & Team Content: A Meet the Team page, a dedicated Chiropractors page, and patient testimonials featured on the homepage to build confidence with prospective patients.
- Recruitment & Contact: A careers callout for prospective practitioners, an embedded location map, and an integrated contact form.
The final result is a site that matches the level of care Active Care provides, with a clear path from first visit to booked appointment.
