Prime-Land Engineering

Prime-Land Engineering is a civil engineering firm based in Alberta specializing in land development, municipal infrastructure, and civil design. Their team partnered with David Fenoulhet Design to build a new brand and website that reflected their expertise, professionalism, and regional roots.

David handled the brand identity and design direction, and I was brought in to take care of the technical development — setting up the theme foundation, solving front-end challenges, and implementing a range of custom interactive features to bring the design to life.

The Client

David Fenoulhet Design produced the full visual identity and digital design system, rooted in the concept of layers of land and infrastructure. The look and feel — bright, structured, and confident — was designed to communicate Prime-Land’s trusted expertise and regional connection.

Prime-Land Engineering needed a site that reflected their reputation for quality and trust while staying approachable and easy for their team to manage. My role was to support David’s design vision and deliver a site that was both visually engaging and technically sound.

The Task

David came to me with a completed design system and needed help bringing the more complex motion and layout elements to life. I set up Impreza with my custom child theme as the foundation, implemented custom animations including the scroll-triggered logo assembly, animated buttons, and smooth scrolling panel cards, and refined the front-end for consistency, responsiveness, and performance. The scroll animation for the logo proved especially challenging, requiring careful tuning to achieve seamless motion across all devices.

The Results

The completed website successfully translated Prime-Land Engineering’s new brand into a modern, high-performing online presence. Our technical development work brought the design to life through precise animation, refined motion, and a solid theme foundation.

Key features of the site included:

Scroll-Triggered Logo Animation: A fully custom, performance-optimized animation that assembles the Prime-Land logo as users scroll — one of the most technically challenging and rewarding parts of the build.
Custom Animations & Motion: Smooth transitions, interactive service cards, and dynamic number counters that add motion and depth while maintaining a professional tone.
Custom Post Types: Implemented for team bios and testimonials, allowing Prime-Land’s staff to easily manage and publish new content with consistent styling and layout.
Standardized Services Layout: A clean, modular structure that makes it easy for visitors to explore and compare Prime-Land’s areas of expertise.
Theme Setup & Optimization: The site was built using the Impreza framework with a custom child theme, providing a maintainable, fast, and scalable foundation for future updates.

Through close collaboration with David Fenoulhet Design, the final result is a visually engaging, technically refined website that captures Prime-Land’s professionalism, warmth, and forward-thinking spirit.
